Paper or Plastic?
posted by Tabitha

Stop looking for the answer and question the question. You are being asked to choose between two bad choices. Bags designed for one time use are not a good idea. Both are a waste. Many stores are now selling cloth bags that can be used indefinitely. Buy several and keep them in every vehicle you have. It takes time to learn to take them with you and use them.

Switching is worth the effort.  They reduce waste, hold more items, and are comfortable to carry. There are even varieties that fold up for easy storage in your glove compartment or purse.

You can purchase these bags at local stores or online at stores like the following:

Also, Trash Force is considering purchasing a bulk supply of foldable, reusable bags. We will update the site when we have more information.

If you do not want to purchase a bag, you could the large cloth bags that rice is purchased in, re-purpose an existing bag in your home, sew your own bag, or use a basket.  I though that you could sew a strap on a pillowcase, but my husband mentioned that this could look suspicious -be creative.
